We have an immediate need at our Headquarters Office located in Evanston, IL for a Paralegal – QA/QC Specialist. We are seeking an exceptional and accomplished individual at the Managing Associate level.

Job Description
The Paralegal – QA/QC Specialist will participate in and/or lead tasks to ensure Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) within the firm. Depending on the circumstance, these tasks may require the specialist to:
• Conduct review and assessment of documents, and oversee compliance of all Company Request for Proposals (RFPs), applications and awarded contracts in Company pipeline;
• Review, summarize, draft, vet and negotiate various types of disaster management contracts;
• Facilitate regulatory compliance initiatives;
• Provide guidance, instruction and data relating to compliance initiatives in order to reduce risk to firm;
• Interpret, communicate and implement guidelines and disseminate findings to business development and project management team;
• Maintain consistency of reportability, internal controls, financial reporting protocols, and tracking proposal-to-proposal and project-to-project; and
• Conduct research and prepare analyses and responses to ensure compliance.

The specialist will be expected to work with minimal supervision and be comfortable interacting directly with clients, including senior managers and executives. The ideal candidate will have experience with contract negotiations and identifying and pursuing government administrative procedures and requirements.

Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree (Records Management, Project Management, or Business) and at least 2 years of experience in compliance, QA/QC or paralegal work;

• An understanding of Emergency Management principals and Federal regulations, specifically the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistant Act is beneficial;

The Civil Engineer, Architect and/or Seasoned Construction Manager will provide technical support and expertise to recovery efforts. The professional may:

• Serve as liaison to public and non-profit stakeholders, responsible for explaining to applicants the regulations, strategies, policies, and procedures that govern the Public Assistance program in gaining complete eligibility.

• Create and/or review Project Worksheets based on eligibility criteria.

• Perform field inspections of damaged facilities to document disaster-related damage.

As part of our disaster cadre supporting the PA program, you may be asked to deploy anywhere in the country, often with a week’s notice or less, and stay for 90 days or more.
