Job Description

As a member of Hagerty Consulting’s Recovery Team, the Recovery Manager will report to the Practice Leader for Disaster Operations / Crisis Management. The Recovery Manager is responsible for providing technical and strategic advice regarding business development, emerging needs, issues and market trends within the disaster recovery and emergency management arena. Candidates must hold a firm competence level in key areas of recovery that may include the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, FEMA Community Disaster Loan program, and HUD grant management programs, such as Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR).
The ideal candidate should have advanced knowledge and/or experience with the following:

 Management responsibility for recovery projects as assigned with a major focus on achieving maximum eligibility of all financial estimates, grants, awards, strategic planning deliverables, and client satisfaction;
 Coordinate activities for large complex projects;
 Ability to learn and expand existing knowledge of the team by learning new disciplines in disaster recovery as assigned. This includes mentoring peers and subordinates in areas where expertise has already been obtained and demonstrated;
 Initiate, manage, and adapt consulting methodologies to firm’s services and approaches;
 Engage in and lead business development activities in strategic outreach, marketing efforts and conference attendance;
 Engage in and lead proposal pursuit and development (Request for Proposal [RFP]) and assign firm personnel for proposal development activity, oversee technical and proposal pricing development and provides quality assurance of all proposal submissions;
 Coordinate with others in Hagerty’s Recovery practice to assess opportunities, assign workflow, and evaluate capture strategies, and leverage business partners and networks;
 Provide expert support and apply expertise on all matters related to disaster recovery and business continuity management including oversight of design, execution and continuous improvement of the disaster recovery plan;
 Proven ability to manage a budget, adjust timelines for client deliverables, and staff augmentation as needed;
 Strong writing skills and ability to construct persuasive and compelling narratives to tell Hagerty’s story to current and prospective clients.

 Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in management consulting and/or emergency management/homeland security in disaster recovery (specialized experience in excess of 10 years may waive the degree requirement);

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The candidate will participate in or lead project initiatives for federal, state and/or local clients related to emergency management and homeland security.
