Hagerty Consulting, Inc., a comprehensive Homeland Security and Emergency Management firm that helps public and private sector clients prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters, seeks business development professionals to serve as a Project Managers to support clients in the National Capital Region.
Each Project Manager will have the general duties of contract performance management, risk management, requirement analysis, and deliverable quality assurance.

Job Description

The Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Client Delivery based in Hagerty’s Washington, D.C. office and will be responsible for managing the overall project engagement including the following responsibilities:

• Manage the client relationship.
• Develop and maintain project work plans.
• Develop and monitor the project budget.
• Manage work stream leads and validate that contract work is being performed on time, under budget, and meeting client quality standards.
• Monitor project staffing levels including managing overall project level of effort (LOE) while meeting firm profitability standards.
• Act as point person in hiring decisions.
• Manage task order (TO) responses including contributing to generating the response and developing supporting pro forma budgets
• Evaluate and monitor staff performance including generating project and performance reviews.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in managing projects in the Federal Government, preferably with a $5M - $10M range in annual budget.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the emergency management field.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Masters of Business Administration, Public Administration or Public Policy a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in growing contractual relationships.
• Experience in building project teams from contract inception to completion.
• Understanding of performance measurement and other core project management principles.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to tailor communication to an executive audience.

We are looking for candidates with professional experience in accounting, business administration, economics, or finance to join its New York City Hurricane Sandy Recovery Project. Full-Time Employment and Independent Contracting will be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Ideal candidates will have proven abilities in accounting, financial management, grant administration, internal controls, budget formulation and execution, and/or financial reporting protocols and analyses. Public sector experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates will ideally have previous experience working with database programs such as Oracle and Microsoft Access. Candidates will be expected to:

• Collect, organize and analyze data received from various data sources.
• Analyze data to understand trends and relationships.
• Create and maintain databases using an existing open-source product.
• Producing informative and visually appealing graphs and charts.
• Writing protocol deliverables to document system processes.
• Developing methodologies to streamline delivery of grant funding.
• Reconciling federal and state grants, cost estimates, audits, and other initiatives that support disaster response and recovery efforts
• Ensuring compliance with standard accounting/procurement principles as well as with the applicable federal laws, rules, regulations, etc.

Job Description

The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Director of Development and will be responsible for performing strategic business development duties and responsibilities to include:
 Proactively and aggressively helping to generate new business and increase overall revenue for the firm, through the cultivation of new business with potential clients and former clients, as well as through additional follow-on work with current clients.
 Serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for Hagerty in the marketplace.
 Work to continuously establish new strategic relationships for the firm with potential clients and teaming partners that may enhance the firm’s ability to pursue strategic opportunities and grow our presence in both Preparedness and Recovery Programs.
 Facilitate the pursuit, capture, and closure of new contracts.
 Remain up to date on current issues, legislation, guidance, and trends within the emergency management/homeland security and disaster recovery arena.
 Effectively promote the Hagerty brand and the firm’s customized consulting services and emergency management tools to current and potential clients at trade shows, conferences, symposiums, and business development meetings. This includes attending, exhibiting, and/or speaking at trade shows, conferences, or symposiums nationwide.
 Submit bi-weekly activities and sales reports to the Director of Development. Candidate will be required to meet targeted sales and revenue goals, as determined by the Director of Development and Executive Vice President.
 Periodically serve as project manager or consultant on select client projects.
 This position requires the candidate to travel extensively, including overnight travel, to client sites and prospective client locations throughout the United States and its territories.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years proven experience in building design, project management, and/or cost estimating. A strong background in public works and infrastructure projects is desired. Knowledge of New York City building codes is preferred but not required. Public sector experience is preferred, but not required. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Support municipal authorities at all levels of project design.
• Support the review and organization of construction documents for conformance to local, state and federal requirements.
• Support the review of project scope for conformance to funding requirements.
• Support the review of scope of work changes such as code upgrades, hazard mitigation, change orders, etc.
• Support the development of scope of work revisions and quantification at milestone intervals.
• Ability to attend project site visits and coordination meetings as required.
